From 24 Steps to 7: How Dior Beauty Created an Exclusive Leather Experience
For luxury events, a great guest experience needs to feel effortless - even when there is significant preparation happening behind the scenes.
For a Dior Beauty client event surrounding the launch of Cuir Saddle from La Collection Privée Christian Dior, The Leather Society was engaged to bring a leather flower experience to life for an exclusive group of guests.
The concept was to create a refined leather flower aligned with the creative direction of the fragrance, giving guests the opportunity to assemble their own piece and take it home as a keepsake.
From 24 Steps to 7
The original creative guidelines involved 24 individual steps to create the leather flower.
With only around 20-25 minutes available for each guest session, asking guests to complete the entire process themselves would have made the experience too complex.
We reviewed the full process and moved the more technical preparation into our pre-event production, including cutting, die-cutting and preparing the leather components and adhesive.
This allowed us to condense the guest experience into seven key assembly steps, while still keeping guests genuinely involved in creating their own flower.
Preparing Every Detail Before the Event
To ensure the experience could run smoothly across multiple sessions, every guest's materials were prepared in advance.
The individual leather components were cut, prepared and organised into drawstring bags, ready for each guest to begin the activity.
The pieces were produced according to the event's creative direction, with the Dior branding incorporated into the prepared leather component before the event.
By handling the detailed preparation beforehand, guests could focus on the enjoyable part - assembling the flower themselves.
An Experience Guests Could Actually Complete
During the event, our team guided guests through the simplified seven-step process, helping them assemble the petals and form the finished leather flower.
The objective wasn't simply to make the activity faster.
It was to remove the complicated preparation while preserving the sense of craftsmanship and participation.
Guests were still responsible for creating their own flower, and many were surprised by how refined the finished result looked despite having completed it within a short session.
Once finished, Dior Beauty had prepared a vase for each guest, allowing them to take their leather flower home as a decorative keepsake.
Turning a Creative Concept into an Event Experience
What made this project particularly rewarding was taking a detailed creative concept and adapting it to the realities of a live event.
The original 24-step process was transformed into a streamlined seven-step guest experience, allowing the activity to fit comfortably within the event schedule while maintaining the hands-on element that made it memorable.
For luxury brands, corporate events and exclusive client experiences, the right creative partner needs to understand more than the craft itself.
It's about taking a creative direction and turning it into something that works in the real world - from pre-event production and material preparation to guest flow, timing and hands-on participation.
For this Dior Beauty experience, The Leather Society was proud to help turn a detailed leather flower concept into a refined and accessible guest experience, giving each participant something they had personally created and could take home from the event.
